Single/White/Male

Single/White/Male

I write poetry in the dark

I stay indoors from the sun

I eat the chocolates from your box

I am a full-bodied American girl

Slipping on a soliloquy

Hoping for a lobotomy

Breaking that cold fever

I’m coming so undone

I laugh out loud on the subway

I dream of unfinished courtships

I got some jagged teeth

I am something short of a miracle

Could you please

Hold my jacket

Hold my hand

Hold my drink

Hold me through this

I got a pair of dice jingling in me

I often find your stare too piercing

I eat my slice of Americana

I’ve got nothing left I haven’t stole
